“Combottes” is surrounded by grand cru vineyards at the border between Gevrey and Morey—always a stunning wine given its location, older vines and endless class. We couldn’t get over its exotic, captivating nose of cherries and cinnamon, raspberries and ginger. The ginger notes continue in the mouth, giving the wine’s sultry Pinot core lift and definition. Blackberry and cherry jam, a hint of cream, and more ginger and dried herbs on the finish. Sensually rich and irresistible.
