Of the Arlauds’ Morey premier crus, “Chezeaux” shows the most curves and supple concentration. Its rich purple color in the glass echoes its black- and purple-fruited core. Notes of plums and cassis mix with black cherries and hints of ginger and dark chocolate. Lusciously ripe, yet not without sufficient mineral and peppery energy to keep things lively. The finish is peppery; definitely a meat eaters’ wine.
