Always seductive, “Genevrières” at the heart of Meursault’s band of premier crus. Its chalky soils contribute a racy, nervous edge that plays as an undercurrent to the wine’s rich and luscious stuffing. Plenty of mineral energy and lightly toasted nuts show on the nose; the mouth delivers wave after wave of lime and lemon flavors, a hint of butter, and a whole lot of fresh white fruits.

Boyer-Martenot Pommard En Villages Cuvee Unique 2009
France
/
Côte de Beaune-Burgundy
A unique, pure red Burgundy from one of our favorite Meursault producers. "En Village" delivers a floral, precise nose of plum skin and baked earth, with bits of dusty dark chocolate. Ripe and concentrated with plenty of pure Pinot fruit, suggestions of coffee and black pepper. Wonderful texture and persistence in the finish.
