2010 Bouard-Bonnefoy Chassagne Montrachet
bouard bonnefoy
“The 2010s…are my kind of white Burgundies: fresh, pure and minerally, with high-pitched fruit, floral and herbal notes along with intriguing saline soil tones; it's a vintage of wines that clearly express their terroir.”
—Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar

The energy and purity of these wines from Chassagne-Montrachet did more to convince us of the peerless quality of 2010 than any other village in the Côte de Beaune. This is regal white Burgundy with pep and poise, Chassagne at its most elegant—and few families have such a rich selection of terroir as does Bouard-Bonnefoy.

We were completely taken with these wines because their aromas are so invigorating and expressive; because the fruit in the glass is so clear and sonorous; because the length, texture and persistence of each sip reminds us just why Chassagne is so treasured not only for the clout of Montrachet but also for the sheer pleasure that each bottle delivers.

We’ve selected what we feel were the most expressive wines of the vintage—and there is no question that in the few years we’ve been with this estate 2010 is some of the finest wines we’ve enjoyed. All very rare; quantities limited to the single barrel for each cru. More >>
