Winemaker Jacques Beaufort
(Montagne de Reims), Champagne
Ambonnay is one of 12 Champagne villages originally designated grand cru in 1919. Wines from Ambonnay—made primarily with Pinot Noir—are known for their power, full flavors and cherry notes.
The wines of Domaine Andre Beaufort "turn back the clock" to a taste of Champagne—full-bodied and complex—enjoyed more than 200 years ago when sparkling wine in this region was first produced in earnest. You'll find flavors of ripe cherries and toasted nuts, and aromas of licorice and white truffles.
Importantly, the famous "gout de terroir" of Beaufort Champagne is the result of more than 40 years of organic viticulture, which long ago established winemaker Jacques Beaufort as the pioneer in organic Champagne.
