“Caillerets” exhibits a southern Rhône nose of purple flowers and garrigue, zesty and alive with notes of cumin and nutmeg. A sultry mouth maintains the southern influence with baked earth and cherry pits, mixed with racy ginger and north African spices. Aged in 1/3 new wood.

Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Bonnes Mares Grand Cru 2011
Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Bonnes Mares Grand Cru 2011
France / Côte de Nuits-Burgundy
"Good dark red. Soil-driven aromas of underbrush, mocha and spicy herbs. Sweet, rich, lush and fine-grained, with nicely integrated acidity giving shape to the flavors of dark berries and menthol. In a distinctly supple style for young Bonnes-Mares but the long, juicy finish shows very good lift. Tannins are dusty and serious."--Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

"Medium-deep red. Nicely perfumed on the nose, with good lift and complexity to the aromas of dark raspberry, flowers and earth. Silky and thick in the mouth, but with plenty of energy to give shape to the black raspberry, mocha and coffee flavors. Mounts slowly on the very long finish, which features substantial ripe tannins."--Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

When vines begin to sprout the French say, "Ça pousse." Pousse d’Or has been blossoming for more than a century, and with every vintage, we’re floored at the level of quality. Diligent green harvesting and vineyard selection at harvest leads to very small average yields. All the wines we import from the domaine are unfined and unfiltered.

"Good dark red. Musky, reduced aromas of dark berries and game. A step up in intensity from the Groseilles, with sound acidity giving shape and lift to the flavors of blueberry and blackberry compote. Tightly wound and fine-grained wine with broad tannins and very good length."--Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

"Dark red. Black raspberry and mocha aromas show less thrust than the Pousse d'Or wines from the Cote de Beaune. Ripe and chocolatey in the mouth, but with modest depth and nuance to the black fruit and licorice flavors."--Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

"...The most vibrant of Landanger's Cote de Nuits wines in 2011 and quite different in style from the rest, showing more sharply delineated, explosive black fruit flavors along with a very fine-grained texture. Really stimulates the salivary glands on the long, mounting finish, which features suave, spreading tannins."--Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

"Deep ruby-red. Musky aromas of black raspberry, minerals, mocha and meat. At once suave and muscular in the mouth, with rich blackberry and cassis flavors framed and lifted by strong, well-integrated acidity. Energetic, precise and tangy Corton grand cru with firm tannic spine and excellent persistence."--Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Corton-Clos du Roi Grand Cru 2011
France / Côte de Beaune-Burgundy
"Bright ruby-red. Wild aromas of blackberry, chocolate and meat are considerably less expressive today than those of the Bressandes. Broad and large-scaled but backward, showing darker fruit flavors than the Bressandes. Finishes with big, horizontal tannins and excellent length. This should equal the Bressandes but will need a good five or six years in the cellar."--Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Pommard 1er Cru Les Jarollieres 2011
France / Côte de Beaune-Burgundy
"The black fruit and chocolate aromas show an almost liqueur-like ripeness. Dense, concentrated and sweet, with a sappy quality to the black fruit flavors and a meaty element emerging with air. Finishes with sweet, firm tannins that turned a bit tougher with aeration, but this rather powerful wine appears to have the plush, ripe mid-palate flesh to support its spine."--Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
