This excellent Sauvignon Blanc both satisfies thirst and encourages it—there is so much flavor and mineral expression in this layered, juicy wine that you’ll find you can’t get enough. Winemaker Francis Blanchet tends his vines as organically as possible, and adds very little sulfur—each sip is as natural and pure as it can be. Aromas of flint—firecracker smoke—are evident in the wine’s nose, along with fresh white flowers and lemon rinds. The mouth is medium-bodied and lively—juicy white fruit and plenty of citrus energy, plus a nice dash of white pepper. Perfectly balanced and satisfying.
2008 Sancerre and Pouilly-Fume
4.1.2010

River, and the crisp, invigorating flavors of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fume
from a cool cellar.

2008 Francis Blanchet “Cuvée Silice”
1.14.2010

“Expressive bouquet of lemon zest, honeysuckle, wet stone and ginger,
with a subtle smoky undertone. Dry, nervy, precise citrus and floral
flavors pack a solid punch but are fat-free and incisive. The finish
features a sweeter honeydew quality and lingers with very good smoky
persistence. ” — Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar
