A pretty, silky wine with delicate, subtle aromas that remind of wildflowers, warm earth and plum skins. The mouth is full and fresh, with lovely and balanced flavors of savory red cherries in liqueur, pomegranate jam, spiced plums. Tannins are fine and offer balanced structure, and the finish is uplifting and spicy. Lots of complexity and soul here.
Pierre has teamed up with his son Guillaume, 23, to craft a peerless wine from an extraordinary piece of land in Moulin-à-Vent. Here “gryphées,” or seashell fossils, are all there is to see in the soil, as if the ocean just receded yesterday. The mineral content and character of this impressive terroir is what gives their Moulin- à-Vent its precision and freshness.
