modern types—by whichever name you choose, what’s in this bottle is not
only a kissing-cousin to Châteauneuf but also a deliriously cheap date
that may wake your inner pagan. And why not? There has been plenty of
cutting back, plenty of belt-tightening. What we need is a bit more
reason to celebrate on a level that doesn’t trip the financial guilt
meter or make the neighbors look askance. (Note to self: Leave the faun
skin suit at home.)
