This is the powerhouse of the estate, and a wine that has been named one of Italy's finest for years running. The “Saxa Calida” vineyard sits at the foot of the winery on the slopes of San Gimignano, and is rich with rocks. It is these “hot stones” that push both Cabernet and Merlot to perfect ripeness and dazzling concentration. Floral, with notes of red fruit and bitter chocolate on the nose; long, elegant and silky flavors of berry marmalade, coffee and touches of balsamic on the mouth.
