Light gold with silver flashes in the glass. Honey butter blends with blackberries and cherries on the very effusive, Pinot Noir-rich nose; a touch of pie crust and lemon zest adds to the complexity. What’s especially evocative here is the wine’s red-wine signature—you get structure, perfume and a delicious richness (the blanc de noirs touch) with a classically dry and lively Champagne personality. Spices abound, with notes of nutmeg and white pepper. Long, fresh and very captivating. The ideal aperitif and also a great food wine, given its body and complexity.
