All Venice is a carnival, whether you’re lost in the riot of masked revelers that wander its windy streets each year, or indulging in the festival of seafood that graces the region’s rich cuisine. Thus it’s no surprise that the classic wine of Veneto is fresh, playful, bubbly Prosecco. Prosecco is both the name of a wine and a grape. While there is, unfortunately, plenty of mass-produced Prosecco that comes from the region’s plains, the finest bottles come from the highest hills in Conegliano Valdobbiadene—which is of course where all our top Prosecco producers come from.
Red Valpolicella wines from around the region of Verona are probably some of the most underrated reds in Italy. A blend of native varietals such as Corvina and Corvinone, to name a few, results in a Valpolicella that is often ruddy and packed with cherry fruit. The Veneto is also famous (or infamous, depending on your perspective) for white wine, primarily from the region of Soave. Amarone, too, hails from this region. A magical brew, Amarone is made from dried grapes and aged in barrel.

Soave at its best is as light and refreshing as wine gets: it is low in alcohol and tastes like mountain spring water with a squeeze of lime. Dama del Rovere Soave Classico is 100% Garganega and handmade, which sets it far, far apart from the bulk, industrial production of so much of Soave.
