Clearwater Creek wines come from well-established winemakers from the most renowned terroirs in California. Over the years we’ve located the finest Merlot from Napa, spicy and robust Zinfandel from Sonoma County, and seductive Syrah from the Russian River Valley.

Clearwater Creek is our own label, representing all of what we at North Berkeley hold dear: forging close relationships with exemplary winemakers while discovering great wine in barrel to offer you.

Just as we scour the countryside in France and Italy to discover the best wines for our “Cuvée Unique” bottlings, so too do we keep our finger on the pulse of California, searching for wines that match our exacting standards for Clearwater Creek.

2004 Clearwater Creek Syrah Russian River Valley

Succulent red berries and gobs of dusty chocolate coat the palate in an explosion of flavor and energy, with sweet tannins that contribute a solid backbone to this noble Rhône varietal. Like many of the wines we import, the 2004 Syrah is bottled unfiltered to preserve within each bottle every bit of fresh, juicy fruit we tasted in barrel.

2004 Clearwater Creek Chardonnay Sonoma Coast

Medium-bodied and silky on the tongue, with juicy yellow peaches and apricots in abundance, the wine shows incredible balance and freshness. A hint of crushed rocks in the finish is a nod to the rugged and noble terroir of the Sonoma Coast.

2002 Clearwater Creek Cabernet Sonoma County

This stunning Cab shows layers and layers of rich, deep, elegant and juicy black fruits. Full-bodied, intensely forward and packed with plenty of grip and sweet tannins, this is a world-class Cabernet at a jaw-dropping price.

2001 Clearwater Creek Merlot Arroyo Seco

Low yields and one of the longest, mildest, driest growing seasons in California memory produced an outstanding Merlot with impressive ripeness and length. Blue/black in the glass, the wine exhales a heady perfume of black plums, blackberry jam, saddle leather and cassis, followed by a rich, concentrated, completely robust and delicious mouth of black fruits and stony finesse. The Arroyo Seco AVA is nestled in southern Monterey County, and is similar to Graves in Bordeaux with its gravely, robust soils.
