Wine Spectator Interviews Domaine la Bouissiere’s Thierry Faravel

Jul 17, 2018

James Molesworth recently visited Gigondas in the southern Rhone, and paid a visit to our long-time partner Thierry Faravel of Domaine la Bouissiere in Gigondas.

This article in the Wine Spectator addresses the challenges of the 2018 vintage (spoiler alert: it’s been a tough, wet season … but the summer has been great so far) and how Thierry cares for his vines high up in the limestone hills of the Dentelles de Montmirail.

Here’s a short exerpt: you can read the whole article here.

Located at the top of the village is the cellar of Domaine La Bouïssiere, where vigneron Thierry Faravel quietly fashions some of the best wines in Gigondas. At 55, Faravel has seen his share of vintages. He took over from his father in 1989; his father was a legend in Gigondas, working over 40 years at Pierre Amadieu, the largest producer in town, while planting and building his own domaine along the way.
